Have you told you lately that you love you?

In a world that is constantly telling us to do more, have more and be more, it’s important to remind ourselves from time to time that we’re enough.

I know it sounds like a very clichéd thing to say, but I suppose clichés are clichés for a reason. Sometimes, we need to learn the same lesson over and over again till it finally registers.

When you find yourself criticizing yourself, or being harsh to yourself, take a moment and ask yourself – would you say those things to a friend or loved one?

When we speak to someone we love, we give them approval, we don’t judge them, we tell them we believe in them and their abilities, we remind them of all the wonderful things we see in them, we embrace them with all their faults, we laugh at their adorable little quirks and weirdness, and we accept them for who they are.

Why, then, do we not behave the same way with ourselves?

Treat yourself like you would your best friend. Speak kindly to yourself. Give yourself a pat on the back for accomplishments and things well done. Remind yourself that you are smart, talented and capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. Spend time with yourself, get to know yourself better. Take time to rest and relax. Love yourself. Truly, madly, deeply.

You are so worth it.
