The sky is full of billions of stars. Or maybe infinite.
Who knows?
What I do know, however, is that the only times I’ve actually observed and appreciated the beauty of the night sky is when I’m tucked away in nature, far from city lights, perhaps in a village by a national park, surrounded by mountains and trees. In the city, blinded by lights, deafened by honking cars and distracted by all my problems – I hardly ever bother to look up at the night sky.
Life’s bit like that isn’t it? You are here, wherever that is, because of all the choices you’ve made, the ups, the downs, the good days and the bad. When you pause and look back over your life, it’s a field of glittering stars. But you never notice it.
The next time you’re in a quiet and meditative mood, close your eyes and look at the stars.
