Let it snow

It’s snowing outside, as I write this.

Last year, I waited and waited for snow only to be met with glorious sunny winter days!

However, this year’s winter is more than making up for it! It’s been a cold winter and we even saw a bit of snow in December, a sight that is usually saved for January.

I love watching the snow fall. It comes down like a gentle rain in slow motion, and there’s something magical about the way snowflakes drift to the ground like tiny white wisps.

I remember the first time I saw snowfall. It was like nothing I’d ever seen before! At first, I thought an enormous feather pillow had burst as tiny, white flurries floated down all around me! Gradually, the gentle snowfall picked up speed.  As the snow fell harder, it became more dense. Soon everything was covered with a soft, white blanket.

And everything looked so enchanted!

Bare branches of trees outlined in white, making them seem almost like paintings. Shrubs and bushes dusted with a fine coating of powdered white sugar. Street lamps and buildings shaded in white, giving them depth and definition.

Snow truly beautifies everything it covers. Even in the depressing depths of winter, a little snowfall brightens my day and makes everything cheerful again!
