The secret to happiness

I’ve often wondered if there’s a secret to happiness.

I think the secret is to understand that nothing in life is constant. Life is ever-changing, ever-flowing.

I’ve noticed that life happens in crests and troughs. There are days when everything seems to be going perfectly. And then, there are days, when, try as I might, nothing seems to go according to my plans.

The secret to staying happy is to remember that neither the good nor the bad days will last.

Enjoy the good while it lasts. Make the most of it. When things are good, smile, soak it up, enjoy it. When things take a turn for the worse, remind yourself that this phase will not last forever. It’s a temporary phase, just like the happy times.

“This too shall pass”, is what I tell myself when I feel unhappy.
